The Dress Code

This is a masquerade ball, and we encourage creative interpretations of formalwear inspired by Labyrinth’s whimsical and otherworldly aesthetic. Think dark fantasy, 17th and 18th-century silhouettes, or evening attire with an imaginative twist.

Attire: Our dress code is Dark Fantasy Formal – so let your imagination run wild and bring your best interpretation to life! Check out our Pinterest for inspiration. Not sure where to start? Classic formalwear like tuxedos, gowns, or cocktail attire are perfect options too.

Masks: Masquerade masks (e.g., half masks or Venetian full-face masks) are required, but guests are not required to wear them at all times. Feel free to get creative! Masks on sticks, modified eyeglasses, and other unique designs are welcome, as long as they’re not on the prohibited list (see below).

Not Permitted: Casual clothing such as jeans or khaki pants, t-shirts or polo shirts, or costume-style masks like mascot heads or Halloween-style masks.

Overall, we encourage creativity and innovation, and respectfully request that our guests do their best to keep in the spirit of the theme.

Here is a more comprehensive guide for those who need it.

The Menu

In addition to tasty hors d’ouevres, a garden salad, and fresh Italian bread, guests will be served one of the following delectable dinner options, selected upon purchase of your ticket (but you can change your mind until April 17th!):

The Crown Jewels
GF, VG, V

roasted zucchini, asparagus, yellow squash, red & yellow bell peppers, eggplant and beluga black lentils, and fresh tomato sauce

The King’s Feast

braised short rib, fork tender, red wine/port demi-glace, served over whipped potatoes

Please Note:

This menu is subject to change until March 31. We will immediately communicate any changes with our ticketholders, and rest assured that no matter what, the vegan/gluten free option will be retained.

We cannot guarantee that dishes will be allergen-free. Please review the listed choices and exercise caution. For more information, please contact the venue directly.

Penguicon is so excited to be partnering with a group of truly talented entertainers (and fellow nerds!) to bring you a spectacular evening! Without further ado, please allow us to present:

Steffani Traskos – Aerialist

Steffani Traskos has been dancing and expressing herself since she could walk, embracing movement as a form of joy and creativity. Her passion led her to the world of aerial arts, where she has been practicing various apparatuses for several years. Most recently, Steffani’s repertoire includes flow fan work, which adds a unique rhythm to her performances. Blending strength and artistry, she aims to tell compelling stories through movement.

Beyond her aerial art, Steffani co-owns and serves as CMO of Nakee Co., a company dedicated to revolutionizing healthy snacking with Nakee Butter Spreads with Benefits™. These innovative spreads are infused with plant protein and functional ingredients designed to fuel active and adventurous lifestyles. Through her work, Steffani aims to inspire others to embrace joyful movement and mindful nourishment, believing that a playful approach to life and wellness leads to a more vibrant existence.

Jaclyn Cole – Aerialist

Jaclyn Cole is a talented aerialist with the Detroit Circus and a dedicated instructor at Detroit Flyhouse. In her debut year in the circus industry, Jaclyn has seamlessly transitioned from her background as a professional ballroom dancer, where she honed her skills and artistry. In addition to her aerial pursuits, she is also a couples therapist, combining her passions for movement and emotional connection. Jaclyn’s diverse experiences enrich her performances and teaching, inspiring others to explore the beauty of both aerial arts and meaningful relationships.

Interactive Entertainment

The Amazing Flec – Roaming Performer

The Amazing Flec is a performance artist who has been dazzling audiences for over twenty years with his signature style of contact juggling, fire artistry, line walking, and character acting. He enjoys sharing his free time with his daughter more than anything else. He also enjoys long walks on the beach, candle lit dinners, and other romantic engagements with his girlfriend. He has also been known to cook decent meals, produce mediocre music and write biographies in the third person.

Kristin Markell – Roaming Performer

Kristin has been a performer for over 13 years starting off as a freestyle dancer and showgirl. Things heated up late 2017 when she lit her first fire prop and felt at home performing with fire. Kristin joined Detroit Circus late summer of 2022, and found her true passion molding into a multi-faceted circus artist. Her skills include roller skating (rhythmic dance and artistic), fire eating, fire performing with props (batons, staff, fans, poi, parasol), multi-hula hoop, juggling and aerial. Besides being a circus performer, she has a full time job as a full stack web developer.

Danielle Dunham – Tarot Reader

Danielle Dunham is an experienced tarot reader who has been awarded multiple scholarships in metaphysics, and is triple certified in tarot, advanced tarot, and mediumship. She has been reading professionally for over a decade, providing valuable insights, guidance, and answers to help empower her clients all over the world.
