What is a Volunteer?
Volunteers are the lifeblood of Penguicon! Whether you’re helping us prepare behind the scenes or pitching in during the event itself, you’ll play a key role in creating a smooth-running and awesome event.

The Underground Masquerade

- Location: Laurel Manor in Livonia, MI
- Setup Times: 1pm-4pm
- Event Hours: 5pm-11pm (5pm-6pm Goblin Court reception, 7pm-11pm full event)
- Teardown Time: 11pm-11:30pm (MUST be entirely cleaned up and out of the building by midnight)
What Do Volunteers Do At This Event?
We’re looking for friendly, passionate people to help with:
- Pre-Event Volunteering:
- Assisting with marketing and promotions
- Helping with event logistics and planning
- Supporting setup, liaising, and coordination
- Event-Day Volunteering:
- Registration and check-in
- Monitoring tables and ushering
- Raffle ticket sales
- Other miscellanea!
Volunteer Perks
We want to reward your hard work! Volunteers can earn a free ticket and even upgrade to the Goblin Court package based on their level of participation:
- 2 Hours (Event Day) = 1 At-Cost General Admission Ticket
For lighter roles like registration or raffle tickets during the gala, OR event setup/teardown. - 5 Hours (Pre-Event) = 1 At-Cost General Admission Ticket
For essential pre-event tasks like planning and logistics. - 10 Total Hours (Pre-Event + Event Day) = 1 Free General Admission Ticket
Go above and beyond! Combine hours across pre-event and event-day roles to a free ticket!
Limit one discounted/free ticket per volunteer.
Important Notes
- Volunteers are required to attend a few key virtual meetings leading up to the event.
- We have limited volunteer slots but will maintain a waitlist if spots fill up.
