[penguicon-general] Reported website issue (from yesterdays meeting)

Yesterday someone (I don't remember who) reported to me that the
Penguicon site was loading really really slow.

I have tracked the slow load back to the Livejournal fead that is
pulled into the main page of the site. The feed has been disabled for
the time being to allow the page to load at a speed less than 5
minutes (now down to less than 10 seconds). The rest of the site was
not effected by this bug.

I suspect that LJ has taken measures to block or slow the load of the
feed we where using but I could be wrong.
