Many folks find most any LCD screen easier on the eyes than any CRT,
and if your monitor is easier to read, you get more done in a day.
The power consumption of LCD monitors is also far lower than that of
CRTs, which additionally carries the indirect benefit of heating up
your office space less.

My previous workplace had a moratorium on purchase of new CRTs because
they figured that between the reduced power consumption, reduced air
conditioning costs, and increased staff productivity, it didn't make
any sense *not* to buy LCDs. If you want to pursue it, there's lots
of ammunition on the web to make your case -- for instance:

With a few exceptions, you can't give away a CRT nowadays.

Cheers,
Rick
