I think the hotel's WAN connection was overloaded.  Before the con
started I was worried that downloads of Linux ISOs and packages would
be the problem but after I attended the installfest it didn't appear
to be the primary issue.  A huge proxy may help but I think the hotel
just needed a faster connection.  Moot point if they're switching
hotels next year.
