Hi Shay,

Sounds like the brakes to me.

I just had to have new rotors and pads installed on my
car for the same reason.  I drove around with an
annoying squeal coming from my wheels for over a month
(including several trips to Detroit) before I took it
in.  Fortunately, nothing bad happened.  However, I
wouldn't recommend you go too long without seeing a
mechanic.

The repair ran about $600 at Tuffy on Washtenaw
between Golfside and Hewitt (in Ypsi Twp - walking
distance from my condo in Ypsi).  Might be less for
you if all you need is resurfacing.  Of course you
should probably shop around for estimates.

My husband's friend uses a backyard mechanic who is
willing to barter.  He traded a high end stereo system
for a clutch once.  Of course, I'm not sure there was
a warranty, but he's always low on cash so he does
what he can to survive.  I can pass on his mechanic's
information if you'd like.
