Wireless is a big one. That can still be thorny depending on what
hardware you have.

Sound. Basics like making sure your screen can be set to an
acceptable resolution (that can usually be tweaked after install too).
Some special 'media' keys on your keyboard may no longer work as
expected (though, most are likely to work well), webcams or built-in
cameras can be hairy, built-in media card readers... etc.

Test hibernating, CPU frequency scaling, and other power management
features if those are important to you. (Hibernating often doesn't
work, but can often be made to)

Test your touchpad, eraser-head, and / or mouse (including the extra
buttons - they almost always work, but sometimes need configuring).

Test hooking your laptop up to an external display (a monitor or
projector) if you expect to be doing that.

Test your hardware wireless switch (if you have one).

Test your printer.

Test scanners, drawing tablets, any other USB gadget you may have.

And don't despair if (when) some of it doesn't work. Most of it will.
And with a little bit of research, some questions, some reading, or a
really helpful friend, the rest can be shored up or worked around.

:)
