I think this would be a lot of fun and a great idea. However, I think
it may be a bit late to get everything done--at least done right--for
P5. We'd definitely be ready by P6, however.
Should this idea be taken seriously, I can offer the use of various
camcorders that can double as live cameras, as well as a switcher. I
can even provide studio (read "basement") space for production. The
downside? I live in Taylor. I say "downside" cuz most people seem to
live out yonder.

While I do agree with you that time is short I want to do this at P5.
If it gets pushed off till next year I will forget about it and it will get
swept under the rug.
For the shooting/filming booths I was only planing on using 1/4-1/2
PVC pipe draped with black sheets for the front and sides and a white
sheet for the back (the side behind the person doing the switch statement)
I am open to other idea that may be better than this for the setup but ATM
this is the best I could come up with that will also keep costs down.
Mostly ATM I am just concentrating on doing the single person switch
type statements. These will later be compiled into 30sec-1min ads
with some graphic overlay that demonstrates what the person is talking
about, i.e XGL+Compiz, Democracy TV, and any of the hundred other cool
FOSS apps that Linux offers.
I also received a few other cool idea on different graphical things that can be done
to the video during post production and I hope to either figure these things
out on my own or find someone that already knows how to do them.
Also keep in mind that all of these videos will be edited using only FOSS.
Later and keep the ideas coming.
Ron
