Okay, we've batted a few ideas around about this on the list. I spoke to
Matt last night at the GLLUG meeting, and I'm confirmed for this event.
I'll be there (I don't think I have any choice: I walked through the door
and people chased me down). Craig, are you also solid on this?
At this point I'm going to suggest that we stick to subversion. There are
lots of cool version control systems that are good for a variety of
purposes, but we both seem to be familiar with subversion.
Do we want to go to the level of a tutorial, or stay more at the level of
how source control works with the development process? Subversion in
particular integrates well with several defect tracking systems (CVSTrac,
Trac, FogBugz), and that kind of tie-in might be a good thing to talk
about, especially if we can tie it with Marshal's debugging panel. I'd
also like to emphasis the cross-platform nature of subversion. I frankly
find tools like TortoiseSVN and subclipse (SVN built into eclipse) to be
one of subversion's strongest selling points.
