You know, now that Cannonical (the company behind Ubuntu) and Linspire have
partnered to do Linux multimedia codecs vendors can actually preinstall, Eric
Raymond and I should probably do a panel on the 64 bit paper we did that
helped get them talking to each other.

The paper is at
http://www.catb.org/~esr/writings/world-domination/world-domination-201.html
and it would be nice to have some kind of projector so we could put up tables
and such from it.

Panel title: The 64-bit deadline: what comes after Windows.
Blurb:
In 2008, 32-bit hardware will fall off the cheap end of the market. Once all
new systems are 64-bit, the venerable Win-32 API goes the way of DOS, and a
new 64-bit standard emerges. Who are the contenders and what do they need to
do to win desktop dominance? Will we finally see Linux on the desktop, a
working 64-bit version of Windows, or the rise of MacOS X?

Not for long. :)
