Just a thought, but considering how close ConFusion is, why not simply
use  the case as a shell with just the tap workings inside.  Add some
lights and decor as mentiond and you've still got a cool-looking
dispenser.  Save the tricked out version for Penguicon, then you won't
have to rush the development so much.
