I saw Terry's post too. I wouldn't be so sure of the diagnosis just yet.
Terry was put on statins after his "phantom stroke", and there's at least
anecdotal evidence out there that statins can cause memory loss:

though it emphasizes that the evidence is "reported voluntarily from a
