[penguicon-general] A couple of thoughts about programming

I know this discussion/debate has come up before. I believe Penguicon
functions more as a crossover con, that is it allows us to look at trends in
geek culture and what we all love and gives us the opportunities to geek out
about it. We all love ice cream, let's geek out about ice cream. We love
linux. Let's geek out about that. And sci fi and fantasy. If we're going to
be -really- strict about what the con is or isn't based on the concept of
"Linux and Sci Fi," our writer GOH is a Bad Choice (tm) as she is most
famous for young adult fantasty. But so many of us love Tamora Pierce it
doesn't really matter that her books are about magic and not science, does
it?
