Well, John's post yesterday (a reformatting of your post the day before) would
make a good news item:

The Penguicon Online Registration deadline has been extended to April 15,
2007. Registrations made from April 1 to April 15 will be at the $45 price,
same as if you were registering at the door.

All registrations made during this extended period *must* be paid via
PayPal. NO mail in payments will be accepted for this extended period
because they may not reach us before the con.

Please make sure that if you are registering online during the
extended time period that you print the confirmation form, as this
will help to speed up your check in at the door. Also, please print
and bring your PayPal payment confirmation.

  Thanks!

Matt's announcement about the schedule being up is another good news item:

  Hey everybody,

Penguicon's programming schedule is now on the site in a list form,
with complete blurbs, rather than table grid. There is still a link to
the table grid, though. Proofreading is welcome.

Click the programming tab in the navigation menu to your left.

Also, I was thinking of putting together an entry of random video links, such
as:

Video of Liquid nitrogen in the swimming pool:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w2mj-Sq2oeo

Matt getting interviewed for a local tv station last year about Penguicon:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DTSqnyt16j0

Brief clip of Howard Tayler making chupaquesos:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MMqewbw1ZrM

Random clip of the coffee ritual:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Slrf6gPCxpA

Video of the chaos machine, set to music, from Linucon:

(If I did a general entry on the chaos machine, I'd link to
http://www.conchaos.com/ and maybe
http://www.conchaos.com/img/linucon_2004/index.html )
