I think that this might be an interesting class, but I worry about losing 
people.  I once implemented the algorithm for fun, and I still don't 
understand why it works.  It would be neat to know how.

That having been said, I'd fear losing people along the way, either because 
they are ueber geeks and know the material (a few), or because the material 
would fly right over their head (a lot, including me).

Still, it would be fun!
