Sometimes I think Tracy and Rob should have named the con
"NiftyCon" instead of Penguicon. A tribute to all things
Nifty.
(And it would have guaranteed that Pete Abrams would show
up every year.) :)

As one who paricipates (and was introduced to it via Penguicon), I think
swordfighting relates directly to the Fantasy aspect of Sci-Fi. It pulls
in both the romantics and the militarists.
Just my 2 cents.
