 Everyone:
 
The Penguicon Board of Directors is going to have a
Board vacancy to fill at the September 13, 2008 Board
meeting.  If you are interested in becoming a
Director of Penguicon, the process is simple: please
send an e-mail to SteveGutterman at Hotmail.com
giving us your name and your intention of nominating
yourself for the Director's position.  Then come to
the Sep. 13 Board meeting to talk to the Board; the
Board will elect the new Director at that meeting.

 
What does the Penguicon Board of Directors do?  Well,
the one thing that they *don't* do is to direct each
year's Penguicon's convention activities.  Instead,
they direct overall policy for Penguicon, approve
multi-year contracts, elect Board members and the
Penguicon ConChair, approve tax submissions and state
mandated incorporation paperwork, and in general do
the things needed to provide a solid organizational
infrastructure for Penguicon and any related
activities.  If you are interested working with the
convention directly, then we enthusiastically
encourage you to volunteer for this year's Convention
Committee (ConCom) which you can do by going to this
