[Penguicon-Concom] [penguicon-general] Danger!! I've been thinking

It's not a bad thought, assuming all the other logistics could be solved, but we would have to make it clear that it's a donation event, but not really a charity event - unless Tom has registered as a charity, we're just making a gift to him, not making a tax-deductible charitable donation. It might seem nit-picky, but these legal differences can really trip people up. And it still runs up against the gambling laws.

Can I suggest a worthy charity?
Our own Tom Smith has just had knee surgery to fix a torn tendon and will shortly (prolly this week) be having the 6th surgery to correct a "birth defect" they've been trying to correct all his life. Tom has been making his living off just his music for the past several years and has zero insurance. I know we did a lot to help Tracy through her cancer, maybe we can help Tom now?

A charity casino event would be much harder to pull off and would
require a lot more work just to get off the ground and way more
function space to run. This is why just a poker event is on the table
right now and also because I don't have the resources or the interest
in a full blown casino event.
