Molly,

Event registrations and group memberships are not made out of physical
matter which needs to be secured. So if a promotional table is only
selling those things, or if they're not selling anything, they go in
the Booth Fair in Assembly and do not go through Angie and Richard
Fox.

The one exception is artists, who do sell physical merchandise.
Artists go through Dean Stahl to be in the Artist Alley in Assembly,
and they do not go in the Dealers Room by working with Angie and
Richard Fox.

To go into more detail, I have copied and pasted the email I sent on
December 20 about the difference between the Dealers Room/Lobby which
is under the jurisdiction of Angie and Richard Fox, as distinct from
the Artist Alley and Booth Fair in the Assembly area.

Everyone, please examine this and if you find any gaps in its
explanation, please ask me.

-Matt

Richard,

This year the Assembly area outside the Ballrooms will feature an
Artists' Alley on Saturday, for those who want to do what Howard
Tayler did. Artists will display and sell their work, and some of them
will create original pieces. Please direct their requests to Dean
Stahl at vadaar71 at gmail.com, who is in charge of running that.

The Assembly area on Friday evening will also be used for a Booth Fair
for SF conventions, LUGs, tech shows, companies, and organizations. So
far we've got booths reserved by The Linux Fund, the Free Software
Foundation, Silicon Mechanics, and several others who are very likely.
Tables are free of charge to any Penguicon registrant with an
organization, group or company. It's separate from the dealer's room
in that it is not for shopping, so products may not be directly sold
at the booth fair. But event registrations and group memberships may
be sold. Please direct inquiries about the Booth Fair to me.

The lobby is not currently scheduled to be used for anything. You and
Angie are in charge of dealers, so if you feel you can secure them
there, that is your authority.

-Matt
