[Penguicon-Concom] Re: [penguicon-general] I know it's early,
but I'm already thinking about this...

I think I speak for everyone when I say that the raffle is great and that
we, as individuals, support March of Dimes or at leas their cause. (Who
doesn't want to save children? Satan, that's who.) I just don't want to ask,
or have anyone ask, GoHs for donations to multiple things and then have them
feel obliged even to donate things to more than one fundraiser per con.
(Unless it's blood. Everyone who weighs enough/has enough iron/etc should
donate blood, IMHO.) Just to make sure no one is feeling as though toes are
being stepped, or stomped, on.
The Charity will depend on how the rest of the GoHs pan out. We have a
couple ideas, talk about at the ConCom meetings, that are currently being
kept from being post anywhere on the internets because naming names can
always be a dangerous thing.
Just, on the note of charities and fundraising, I'm thinking we might need
to have a date auction sometime. That'd just be awesome. And so funny.
FY,
Molly

Well, I'm already told Deb that I'm doing something for the March of Dimes
at Penguicon, so if you have an auction than I guess I just won't be asking
GoHs for donations... but I'll probably still have the raffle since I've
been been saying since closing ceremonies that I was going to do it again,
and I promised Deb that I'd somehow raise more money at next year's
Penguicon.
*shrug* Oh well. And because I'm curious, what charity are you doing the
auction for?

That is a question to ask Sarah when she emerges from Ren Faire. It's

auctionables of sufficient quantity and quality, appraising them,
photographing them, and administering the event itself.
Until such time that our head or programming is able to return to us,
I happen to know Alice Smith-Goerke might be interested in possibly
running our auction again, because she told me so. I've BCC'ed her on
this.
