It might be beneficial for our members but it won't help us in any
way to get a handle on reg number or attendance numbers.
Also what do you plan on doing when someone comes to
the reg table and says that they reged online after the 31st
and mailed their check and we don't have it. Are you going to
tell them they have to pay again and who then is going to be
responsible for keeping track of who says they paid (even if they
didn't) and making sure that when we get the payment (if they did pay)
that we don't cash the check.
In an ideal world where people do what they say they did this might be
a great thing to do but in the real world their are people that like to take
advantage of others and this is why Online Registration closes on the 31st.
Also it closes on the 31st to allow time for mailed payments to arrive before
the Con.

Yes, I know that's how it's been done previously, but I'd like to do it
differently. I think it's a good service to members to accept
pre-registrations even after the at-the-door rate has passed. And it's
also beneficial to the convention, as it will allow to get a better
handle on attendance numbers.
