If all else fails it's possible that my brother and Jackie can crash in Fade's
and my room, I just plan to make the hotel sweat a bit first. If we're back
at the same hotel _next_ year, we'd like to avoid a repeat, and that means
applying the rolled-up newspaper this year.

Woot. Sounds like newspaper has been applied.

Oh making a stink doesn't move a bureaucracy. Being calm, concerned, and
patient (in an "I have nowhere else to be this week, how can I help resolve
this? If the person I need to see next is busy, I brought a book to read..."
sort of way) moves a bureaucracy. They do the minimum they need to make
problems go away. Making loud noises or being rude just gives them an excuse
to make you go away via security...

Ok. Let me know what they offer and I can pass it on...
