I would like to see GoHs make donations. What I *don't* want to see are
donations of low-to-no-worth items, and we've received plenty of those
in past auctions, IIRC, and then had to figure out what to do with
them.
Rather than put out a public call and then feel obligated to accept
items that may seem priceless to their owners but that won't actually
sell, I'd like anyone who is interested in soliciting donations to get
together with me and we'll work out a plan.
But, again, first I need to see the collection and get an idea what
it's worth. Since this collection will probably the "backbone," so to
speak, of the auction, I'd like to solicit donations with relatively
the same worth as the items in the original collection - and establish
the high and low amount items around it.
