After a hellish 4 days at work (Saturday - Tuesday), doing a Quick Books upgrade that failed horribly,
I have re-read your request and follow up emails and realized that from the begining all you where asking
for was to have Paypal pre-reg extended through the 13th. And after rereading my replies I realized that I
didn't read your email all that closely in the first place.
No it shouldn't be too big of a problem to make these changes and have pre-reg at the ATD price through the 13th,
I should be able to make these changes now and have them go into effect then but I will be sending a great number of
test messages after midnight on the 31st just to make sure that no-one slips in at the 35$ rate. You will need to give
me a few days to have the time to make these changes but rest assured I will have them in place before midnight on
the 31st.
Sorry for the earlier rant and confusion(all my own),
Ron

We shouldn't allow mailed in registrations after the 31st, just PayPal.
This doesn't change the policy about mailed payments being postmarked by
the 31st.
I don't understand how you say it won't help us get a handle on
registration numbers. If we get a flurry of registrations after the
deadline, that's good information to know. We'll also know for certain
what the minimum number of people is.
I brought this up at the last concom meeting, and people seemed to think
it was a good idea. Aside from the payment issue - which is really an
non-issue since we would require PayPal - I don't see how this should be
in any way problematic. If people have strong objections it's no skin
off my back - gives me more time to get paperwork ready - but it seems
like a nice service to offer. Some people really like knowing that
these things are taken care of in advance, even when it doesn't make a
difference monetarily. And it gives people who are checking out the
convention an opportunity to commit to attending - if they've
preregistered, they're less likely to just forget about it or blow it off.
I'd want to completely stop accepting pre-registrations on Friday, April
13, so all we're talking about is 13 days - it's probably not really
going to matter one way or the other.
