Apologies for not staying caught up with the thread; I spent my weekend
trying to catch up on studying, and I've found that works better if I'm not
immersed in my email.

If no one minds, I would like to declare a cease-fire while I communicate
with all parties involved in this interpersonal and ideological flareup.

P.S.  Anne, thank you for the thoughtful discussion of issues.  I'm hoping
many if not most of these issues will get addressed during the bylaws
revision process, roughly scheduled for this year.  Not all of them will be
put in the bylaws, but in determining what should be bylaws and what should
be customary practice, I suspect the issues themselves will get debated.  (:
